Learning target & acquired skills:
The student will get an introduction into multimedia systems as well as insights into actual scientific research and practical applications. The student will acquire basic skills to design and evaluate components of multimedia systems.

Contents:

• Definition of and introduction into Multimedia and Multimedia Systems
• Image, video and audio: from analog-digital-conversion to compression
• Multimedia applications: digital video production

Assignment:

• 4 SWS = 56h presence time + 94h stand-alone work
• Bachelor (CSE, CV, IF, WIF): 5 Credit points
